There is more to getting fit than doing a bunch of exercise every once in a while. We have all moaned about “I need to get in shape!” and “I need to be healthier than I am now!” before. If you truly want to get fit you need to make a commitment to a better level of overall health. Getting fit requires making healthy lifestyle choices and eating good food. Make better and healthier lifestyle choices. You should not smoke. Drink less alcohol. Drinking and smoking are nasty habits by themselves but if you keep them up while you try to get healthier you won’t get anywhere. Smoking is terrible for your lungs and can keep you from being able to work out properly. Not only will drinking keep your energy levels low, it is terrible for your liver.

Besides that, drinks made with alcohol are packed with calories. You could spend your whole workout working off the calories you ingested with your booze. Why get in your own way?

You don’t have to spend hours and hours at the gym if you want a full workout. Spending time on the rowing machine or elliptical trainer will work your whole body. Believe it or not, a twenty minute session on an elliptical trainer or in a rowing machine will train and tone your whole body. Twenty minutes on one of these trainers is the same thing as spending an hour working out each of your major muscle areas separately. You will probably choose to use one of these machines to help you get fit because using these machines can save you hours of time spent training each day.

Start slowly and gradually build something more involved. Beginners are generally unable to run ten miles when they start exercising. Nobody is able to lift a hundred pounds during their first weight training session. Begin easily and then, over time, build up the intensity of your workout routine. Trying to go too far too fast you risk doing damage to your body. If you push yourself too hard too soon you will hurt yourself. Talk to a physical trainer or your doctor (or even a good physical therapist) when you need help putting together your workout routine.

You need to realize that honest to goodness fitness is a whole body and whole mind idea.

There is more to real fitness than a few short workouts each week. Of course, it is better to work out a few times a week than it is to do nothing. Beginning slowly and building up to a regular exercise routine is a good way to begin getting fit. If you add the exercise to good lifestyle choices and a balanced diet, you could achieve total fitness very quickly!

As a previous reviewer said, these are women’s pj bottoms. I suppose a slim guy could wear them, but he’d have to order an X or XX large. The fabric is soft and the length is good (I’m 5′7″ and they more than cover my ankles & the backs of my heels.)

What I don’t like is the “boxer” elastic waistband. There’s a tie cord, which is almost redundant with the big elastic. (The elastic is about 1″ wide.) I don’t like anything tight around my waist/stomach (I weigh 120, btw). I ordered the medium size & the fit is good, but I think I’ll remove the elastic. It’s sewn in, so it will be a bit of work, but I have a sewing machine.
